Welcome to Carlisle

First established as a rural farming community in 1650, Carlisle is a quiet, country town just north of Concord. Carlisle’s current zoning regulations aim to preserve its unique New England charm. Approximately 25% of the land has been designated for conservation, and the town maintains a two-acre zoning regulation for residential property. Carlisle’s Great Brook State Park offers over 20 miles of trails for walkers, hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders, as well as cross-country skiers and snowshoeing during the winter. Winding roads, favored by area bicyclists, provide easy access to major commuting routes including Routes 2, 3, 128/95, and 495.
